About Gallery 1065

Gallery 1065 is a contemporary art space with deep roots and an open door. Tucked into Toronto’s Bloorcourt neighbourhood, it was founded in late 2024 by long-time west end resident Monica Gupta at 1065 Bloor Street West—home to her father’s real estate office since 1972.

Today, the space has been transformed into a bright, welcoming hub for artists, neighbours and curious passersby. It’s a place to wander in, follow your curiosity, strike up a conversation, and let art become part of your everyday.

Gallery 1065 celebrates local and emerging artists while adding a spark to the neighbourhood’s creative life. It’s about creating joy and momentum—making space for new ideas, new voices and unexpected connections—while keeping the door open (literally and figuratively) for whatever comes next.

Our curators

Gallery 1065 is shaped by a group of artists whose practices span disciplines and materials. Together, the curatorial team brings a shared commitment to storytelling, experimentation and community connection. Their work reflects the spirit of the gallery itself—grounded in the neighbourhood, open to new ideas and attentive to the lived experiences that shape contemporary art.

Monica Gupta

Monica Gupta is a contemporary photographer and video artist whose work centres on storytelling and human connection. After first picking up a camera in 1994, she returned to her practice in 2014 with renewed focus, going on to exhibit widely and receive recognition in Toronto. Her work is increasingly moving into short documentary filmmaking. For more than 20 years, Monica has worked closely with people experiencing homelessness, using photography and film to share the stories of those she encounters in her daily life.

Amy Rogers

Amy Rogers creates work that reflects on people, their lives and the spaces they inhabit. Moving fluidly between fine art and design, she combines materials and techniques in intuitive and often unexpected ways. Her concept-driven practice explores themes such as the cycle of life and the roles we occupy within it. Amy works across drawing, photography, collage and embroidery, often blending these approaches to suit the needs of each project.

Tracy Gorman

Tracy Gorman is a Toronto-based textile artist who uses garments as her primary medium. Working with dresses that are embellished and reimagined, her practice explores identity, environment and broader social themes. Originally from Eastern Canada, Tracy’s early exposure to craft through family influences led to a lifelong engagement with making. She has developed her practice through professional work as a costumer alongside formal studies in fine art. Her work has been featured in multiple Nuit Blanche installations at Spadina Museum.

Jode Roberts

Jode Roberts is a Toronto-based artist whose practice spans painting, public art and community-driven projects. Working in acrylic, oil and encaustic for nearly two decades, his vibrant work has been exhibited in numerous solo and group shows across the city. His recent work explores the intersections of art, community and urban life, often using humour as a point of entry. Projects such as Walkable Planets—a city-scale installation that reimagines the solar system through street-level signage—reflect his interest in creating moments of curiosity and connection in everyday spaces.
