The David Suzuki Foundation is teaming up with ink-maker Jason Logan, artist Pam Lostracco and Gallery 1065 co-curator Jode Roberts to transform the gallery into an immersive paint-by-numbers mural inspired by Toronto’s urban nature. But there’s a twist: the colours will be made from ingredients foraged in the neighbourhood around the gallery.

The show opens on Friday, September 4, revealing Pam’s wild mural throughout the gallery. At 7pm, there will be a casual sneak peak where you can drop by and meet the artists.

On September 5 and 6, Jason will lead foraging and natural ink-making workshops with 40 participants. They’ll gather leaves, berries, bark, flowers and more, then turn them into a locally made palette for the mural.

Participants will start filling in the paint-by-numbers mural with the foraged inks from September 8 to 10.

And the opening party is on Thursday, September 10, from 6–9 p.m. Come meet the artists, see the gallery in full bloom and raise a glass for nature in the city. RSVP for the opening celebration here.
